One way to see where your child is using their phone is to agree on location sharing through a family app. The device must be with them, have the required permissions, and be able to send location over the internet.
Alkateia brings shared location, text, and voice messages into a closed family space. These features help you stay in touch during journeys and activities.
Agree on when to share
Explain why and when location will be used. You might agree to share on the way home from school, going to an activity, or during an outing.
A simple agreement is to share during the journey and send an arrival message. Location complements conversation; it does not replace dialogue with your child.
How to prepare Alkateia
- Create the family and invite your child.
- Have the parent or guardian check the request and approve entry.
- On the sharing phone, grant the requested permissions.
- Test together, checking the position and timestamp received.
Sharing depends on participation in the app and device permissions. Alkateia was not designed to locate people secretly.
Location has not updated. What should I check?
First, check the last update time. The phone may lack internet, have low battery, or face background restrictions. An old location alone does not explain why updates stopped.
Try text, voice messages, or a call. Remember that the map shows the device's position, and the person may not have it with them at that moment.
Does my child need a phone?
To share location this way, your child needs a compatible device with Alkateia set up and the necessary permissions. The app cannot locate someone by name or phone number alone.
How can you notify the family if you need help?
The SOS button sends family members an alert and shares location. Discuss when to use it and who can respond. Receipt depends on connectivity and device settings.
Alkateia is a family communication tool. Shared location and SOS do not guarantee protection or replace emergency services.
Transparent, temporary sharing
Agree on purpose, recipients, and duration. Alkateia is not a tool for secret tracking. See how to balance privacy and care.
