Last known location is the most recent record available in that context. It shows where the device was located at an earlier moment, not a guarantee that the person remains there. The timestamp is part of the information and should be read alongside the map.
Why does my location show an old timestamp? Connectivity may have been lost, the session may have ended, or the app may not have obtained a new position. Permissions and device conditions also matter. An old record alone cannot establish whether the cause was a technical failure, user choice, or movement. Android documentation distinguishes retrieving stored positions from requesting new updates. (Android Developers) (Android Developers)
How can you see a relative's last location? Open the information they shared and read its timestamp. Check whether it was current location, temporary sharing, or SOS. If no record is available, knowing a name or phone number does not provide a position. Alkateia has no public search or secret tracking.
How can you distinguish a delay from ended sharing? The app's status indicates whether the session ended, when that information is available. The point's timestamp shows when location was recorded. These complement each other: an active session may still have delayed data because of connectivity. An ended session does not mean its final point remains current.
Can an old timestamp confirm arrival? Not sufficiently. Agree on an explicit message or call to confirm arrival. Avoid using a location record as an accusation: it may be inaccurate or outdated. Its best use is to add context to communication, not replace conversation with map interpretation.
What remains after canceling an SOS in Alkateia? Family members can still see the last recorded location, when the alert was sent, and when it was canceled. This explains the event sequence but does not mean location keeps updating afterward. See what happens when an SOS is canceled.
What should you do if updates do not resume? Confirm connectivity and permissions with the person sharing, without asking for passwords or hidden account access. Consult the checks for delayed location. In a risky situation, do not wait for the map to work before seeking help or contacting the appropriate services.
